AVICOM Regional Ambassadors

Promoting exchange, initiating and supporting cooperations between museums with limited human and financial resources and museums with better opportunities in the field of audiovisual media as well as advising museums with little media experience: these are the tasks of the new AVICOM Regional ambassadors.
FRANCOPHONE AFRICA:

Agnès ABASTADO, member of the acting board, has been appointed AVICOM Ambassador for francophone Africa. After 7 years spent in a museum in Paris, she is currently working in Senegal for Digital Africa, a French collaborative initiative promoting African innovation and entrepreneurship through the continent. CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA:

As ambassador, Karina Rebeca DURAND VELASCO of Mexico City will be responsible for Central and South America. The museum expert, who is well connected with museums in Latin America, has been involved with AVICOM since 1991. For several periods, she was its vice-president. CONTACT: k.durand@globalnoiseint.com
AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND AND OCEANIA:

John CHEESEMAN has taken on the position of ambassador for Australia, New Zealand and Oceania. The director of the Mosman Gallery in Sydney, filmmaker and media expert was a very engaged member of the former AVICOM Board. CONTACT: J.cheeseman@mosman.nsw.gov.au
