{"id":779,"date":"2019-01-03T20:38:06","date_gmt":"2019-01-03T20:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/avicom.icom.cust.oxymium.net\/activities\/newsletter\/march-2012-2\/"},"modified":"2019-01-03T20:46:48","modified_gmt":"2019-01-03T20:46:48","slug":"march-2012-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/avicom.mini.icom.museum\/es\/activities\/newsletter\/march-2012-2\/","title":{"rendered":"March 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"RTE_CONTENT\"> <!--TYPO3SEARCH_begin--> \t<!--  CONTENT ELEMENT, uid:6951\/text [begin] --> \t\t<\/p>\n<div id=\"c6951\"> \t\t<!--  Text: [begin] --> \t\t\t<\/p>\n<h3>AVICOM and FIAMP in Montr\u00e9al, October 9-12, 2012<\/h3>\n<p>AVICOM, the International Committee for Audiovisual and New Image and Sound Technologies, is pleased to announce that its next annual conference and festival (FIAMP) will take place October 9-12, 2012 in Montr\u00e9al, Qu\u00e9bec. <\/p>\n<p>Organized in collaboration with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.museesmontreal.org\/en\/Home_page.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Board of Montreal Museum Directors<\/a>, the AVICOM conference will be held at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cca.qc.ca\/en\" target=\"_blank\">Canadian Centre for Architecture<\/a> under the following theme: <i>The Development of New Technologies and the Emergence of New Museology Professions.<\/i>  <\/p>\n<p>The Call for papers deadline is <b>March 9, 2012. <\/b> <\/p>\n<h2>A prestigious guest speaker!<\/h2>\n<p>The AVICOM Committee is pleased to announce that <a href=\"http:\/\/three.org\/ippolito\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jon Ippolito<\/a> will kick off the annual conference. Artist, new media scholar, and former curator at the Guggenheim, Ippolito is a regular contributor to the <i>Washington Post<\/i>, <i>Artforum<\/i> and <i>Leonardo<\/i>. He is also an Associate Professor of New Media at the University of Maine. Along with Richard Rinehart and the collaboration of MIT Press, he will soon be publishing a new book entitled <i>New Media and Social Memory<\/i>. <\/p>\n<p>Those who wish to present papers are invited to contact <a href=\"mailto:manon.blanchette@me.com\">Manon Blanchette<\/a> and to consult the website for additional details. <\/p>\n<h2>FIAMP.2012<\/h2>\n<p>For the last 15 years, AVICOM has promoted and recognized excellence in audio-visual and multimedia creations from around the world. Once again this year, the festival will close with a conference. The Awards Ceremony will be held on October 11th. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.momentfactory.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\">Moment Factory<\/a>, the Montreal-based company renowned for its spectacular multimedia shows for C\u00e9line Dion and Madonna, will collaborate with <a href=\"http:\/\/sidlee.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sid Lee<\/a> to design this special event. A spectacular evening not to be missed! <\/p>\n<p>All museums are invited to submit their audio-visual and multimedia productions before <b>April 30, 2012<\/b>.
