New Executive Council of ICOM

November 13, 2010 — Former AVICOM President, Marie-Françoise DELVAL, candidate for the election of new Executive Council of ICOM in 2010 in Shanghai, has been elected.

The elections for ICOM 2010-2013 Executive Council were held at ICOM’s 25th General Assembly, which took place in Shanghai (China) during the 22nd General Conference (November 7-12, 2010).

The 2010-2013 Executive Council is composed of 15 elected members. The electorate was requested to vote among the proposed list of candidates for 1 President, 2 Vice-Presidents, 1 Treasurer and 11 Ordinary Members.

 

The Executive Council of ICOM

The Executive Council is the governing body of ICOM and generally meets twice a year. It ensures that the decisions and resolutions of the General Assembly are given effect and that ICOM’s Strategic Plan is carried out. It takes action to implement the proposals and recommendations of the Advisory Committee and, if necessary, co-ordinates the work of National Committees, International Committees and Regional Organisations. ICOM members may participate as observers in the meetings of the Executive Council.
